On March 23 the Garden State Bobcat Group (GSBG) hosted Demo Day 2012 at its facility located in Freehold, N.J. Weather for the day was perfect and nearly 80 customers attended to participate in live demonstrations for the array of products GSBG represents. Joining the employees of GSBG were representatives from Bobcat Co., Fecon and Pro-Tech Manufacturing to assist attendee questions and requests.
Attendees were able to view all the new Bobcat M series excavators, track loaders and skid steers with various attachments. One customer favorite was the new 99 hp (73.8 kW) Bobcat T870 compact track loader capable of lifting more than 5,000 lbs. (2,267 kg) 12 ft. (3.6 m) high.
Finn Corp. products were demonstrated in a live job site. A Finn T75T hydroseeder and BB302 bark blower planted grass seed and top dressed an existing mulch bed. Last, a Fecon Bull Hog forestry mulcher was a major hit amongst all participants. The Fecon Bull Hog was outfitted on a Bobcat high flow T300 and operators were amazed at the amount of land clearing made possible by the attachment.
Lunch and refreshments were served, with “Charlie Marvin Hot Chicken” going very quickly. Additionally, door prizes were awarded consisting of a $250 gift certificate toward a Bobcat attachment, a free daily rental of any Garden State Bobcat Group machine and the grand prize was a $500 gift certificate which was awarded to Tom Reese of Reese Enterprises.
The main attraction of the day was a remote-controlled Bobcat all wheel steer loader competition. All attendees were given one opportunity to navigate an obstacle course and the quickest time of the day was held by John Betz of Reese Enterprises who completed the course in 1 minute and 14 seconds and was awarded a 32-in. flat screen TV.
