Genesis Attachments continues to focus on growth in the company’s southwest region with the appointment of Blaine Archibald as its new regional sales manager and Tim Preston to the new position of regional service technician.

Archibald will call on customers in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, California, Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii.

“As a business owner, my previous career field allowed me a good deal of interaction with representatives from a different market — a group that could be, at times, extremely challenging,” Archibald said. “Since joining Genesis in February, I have met with scores of contractors, scrap professionals, business owners and equipment dealers. I can say, without reservation, that they are a much better group to get to know and do business with. I’ve always believed that success in any field is largely dependent upon what a person learns from those around them. In that regard, I feel that I am learning from the best. This is an outstanding opportunity for me to take what I have to offer — solid educational credentials, business ownership and life experience — and apply it to promoting the Genesis brand in this region.”

Tackling the newly-established position of regional service technician actually marks the return of Preston to Genesis’s ranks. One of the company’s premier shop floor personnel involved in final assembly, Preston left Genesis in 2005 to pursue other interests and lived for a time in New Zealand before moving back to the United States earlier this year.

“Almost immediately upon returning to the Sacramento area, I heard that Genesis was seeking a person to become a service technician for this region,” Preston said. “Since I really missed being able to work on hydraulic tools and interact with customers, I contacted them and landed the position. Quite frankly, I could not be happier.”

Preston will be handling attachment repairs, maintenance training, new delivery product training, and dealer training. He will also be available for customer pay services for both repair and maintenance.

“We are excited — and fortunate — to have people the caliber of Blaine and Tim heading up the sales and service efforts in that area,” said Shane Kuhlmey, Genesis’s national sales manager. “Growing the southwest U.S. market has been a focus of ours for some time now and we feel strongly that this move will go a long way, both in improving service to our existing customer base and bolstering our competitive advantage there.”

Genesis Attachments is a manufacturer of excavator and material handling attachments for use in scrap processing, demolition, reconstruction, quarry, waste handling and other recycling-based operations.
