Marking a veritable “changing of the guard,” Genesis Attachments has announced the pending departure of General Manager Bruce Bacon, and the appointment of Mats Ceder to that position. Bacon, one of the company’s co-founders, will stay on for a period to ensure a smooth transition before leaving to start up a new, non-competing company.

“This is a bittersweet time for me,” said Bacon. “In the last 11 years, I’ve seen this company grow from a startup with a half dozen employees to an industry leader employing more than 150. In that same time frame, I’ve cultivated relationships with customers, which have turned into genuine friendships. I have truly enjoyed the industries Genesis serves, and will still be working within them with my new company. My commitment to keeping the Genesis brand one of the most respected in the industry has never wavered, and I leave confident in the knowledge that Mats Ceder shares that commitment.”

Ceder, whose appointment became official effective Jan. 1, 2009, joined Paladin, Genesis’ parent company, in early 2008 as director of business development in Paladin’s heavy construction division. Prior to joining the company, he held sales and marketing positions with motion control manufacturer Parker Hannifin and hydraulics specialist Rexroth. In those positions, Ceder held leadership roles in sales, marketing and general management as well as tackling operational assignments.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for me and I welcome the challenge,” Ceder said. “Given the current state of the scrap recycling and construction markets, these are some of the most challenging times our customers have seen in a long time. Fortunately, we manufacture the kind of products that can help them maximize their potential — and their bottom line — and I’m excited to be able to play a key role in helping make that happen.”
