The roar of heavy-duty truck engines and construction machinery was heard on Oct. 6 and 7 amidst the rolling hills and farmland of Lancaster County, Pa., at Gerhart Machinery's annual All Mack Truck Event. Hundreds of “big truck” enthusiasts rolled in from Pennsylvania and surrounding states for this free event, which includes classic and antique trucks on display; vendors selling parts, accessories, and memorabilia; and of course, food and refreshments.

Heavy equipment enthusiasts got their fill as well. Some of the vintage iron seen crawling, grading, digging, and hoisting included a Bucyrus-Erie 22-B crane, Northwest 80-D shovel, Cat 977H Traxcavator, and Cat D4 dozer.

Visitors also were granted the freedom to roam acres of long retired machines and parts — mostly cranes — that Gerhart will most likely rebuild in the years to come.
