Godwin Pumps has moved its Tampa branch to a larger facility in Lakeland, Fla.

Located at 202 Winston Creek Parkway, the 20,000-sq.-ft. facility sits on 10 acres.

The store sells, rents, services and provides parts for pumps, generators and light towers. It also offers pipes, fittings, adaptors and valves. Additionally, Godwin has fusion capabilities to fuse HDPE pipe together, providing the capability to make custom pipe bends on pipes up to 36 in. (91 cm) in diameter.

Godwin Pumps has been operating in Florida for six years and opened the Tampa branch three years ago. Branch Manager Ed Turner oversees 22 employees, including eight in the service department. With more than 30 years in the construction industry, Turner has worked at both the dealer and manufacturer level.

The staff includes Operations Manager Jed Church, Service Manager Jack Behring and sales reps Craig Godwin, Kevin Abernathy and Gary Goebel. Bud Nichols is the South East Regional Manager for this and several other branches.

All of Godwin’s sales representatives and managers attend an intensive two-week training course called Pumps 101. During this session, the employees learn about the full product line, as well as how to work with a customer to meet its specific needs. In addition, the service department has its own training program.

“Customer service is the main focus of our company and we have the resources to back it up,” Turner said. “We have 24 branches, so we can get the equipment our customers need quickly.”

Headquartered in Bridgeport, N.J., Godwin Pumps has a rental fleet of more than 5,000 pumps and a multi-million dollar parts inventory to support its customer-owned equipment out in the field. CEG Staff
