Construction Equipment Guide

Gomaco’s GHP-2800 with the Integrated Paving System design, provides increased superior rideability results. The Gomaco GHP-2800 is designed to meet the international demands for new construction and reconstruction of highways, airport pavements and streets.

The GHP-2800 is the result of listening to paving contractors and their major concerns with increasing the efficiency and ease of slipform paver operations. The modular slipform paver, two-track and four-track, features the all new Gomaco frame architecture, electronic/ hydraulic circuitry and enhanced job-to-job transportability.

The GHP-2800 provides contractors with a broad range of paving widths from 3.66 to 7.62 meters (12 to 25 ft.) with a dual telescoping frame that extends 1.98 meters (6.5 ft.) on both sides for a total of 3.96 meters (13 ft.) of telescoping capability. The paver also paves widths to 9.75 meters (32 ft.) with additional frame inserts. The GHP-2800 is available with two or four tracks to meet varying applications and contractor preference.

Many reconstruction projects require limited side clearance and the GHP-2800 has the necessary frame clearance capability to slipform within inches of obstacles.

The GHP-2800 also includes state of the art electronic/hydraulic circuitry. This offers increased control features on the paver, providing paving accuracy and ease of operation. Enhanced operator visibility is another plus of the GHP-2800 paver with a pedestal console and a low profile engine shroud. The retractable pedestal console allows the paver to obtain its minimum transport width.

The GHP-2800 has been designed to meet hauling widths with the paving mold and paver’s tracks still attached. The two-track paver with a 3.66 meters (12 ft.) wide mold fits within a transport width of 3.66 meters (12 ft.) and a transport length of 5.88 meters (19 ft. 3.5 in.). The four track has a transport width of 2.5 meters (8 ft. 2.5 in.) and a transport length of 10.98 meters (36 ft.) with tracks.

The GHP-2800 has one of the fastest tracking speeds in the industry which allows contractors to move the machine from one spot to another or for loading to transport from one site to another. The travel speed of the GHP-2800 two-track paver is 37.64 meters per minute (123.5 fpm) and 21.34 meters per minute (70 fpm) for the four-track paver.

The Sauer-Sundstrand hydrostatic track drive system on the GHP-2800 includes a heavy-duty, over-pressure protection pump system that prevents pressurized loss and heat build-up. This high performance, low maintenance system provides a travel range from a smooth uninterrupted minimum to a maximum travel speed.

Contractors are offered a choice of three different engines and horsepower ranges of 186.5 kilowatts (250 hp), 223.8 kilowatts (300 hp) and 242.5 kilowatts (325 hp) to suit their paving applications. The engine module can be quickly attached to the paver as it is independent of the main frame construction. Fuel and hydraulic reservoir modules are also independent of the GHP-2800 paver’s main frame. The GHP-2800 design provides simple access to all maintenance points for serviceability. A full list of Gomaco designed paving options is available for the two-track and four-track GHP-2800.
