The XL 3300 III Gradall excavator allows you to handle more jobs faster, working in any direction without the need for outriggers. As a result, governments and contractors can get more value, versatility, profitability and productivity by requiring fewer machines on the job site, according to the manufacturer.

With a four-wheel-drive rubber tire undercarriage, the XL 3300 III excavator moves easily on or off paved surfaces.

Exceptionally stable with front axle oscillation locks, the XL 3300 III does not require additional stabilization as it digs, picks and carries heavy loads from both sides as well as the front and rear of the chassis. Conventional excavators, which require outriggers, cannot carry large loads and must raise and lower outriggers at each working location.

For unusually demanding jobs on rough terrain, Gradall offers outriggers as an option. Also available is an optional blade for grading.

The stability of the XL 3300 III, which weighs about 39,000 lbs. (17,690 kg), complements the excavator's versatility with the telescoping tool that tilts 220 degrees. With full boom tilt, the operator can position buckets, grapples, hammers and other attachments in exact positions.

The boom and chassis design also create a low working profile, allowing the machine to work under bridges, in tunnels, beneath trees and on the ground floor of parking lot and building construction sites.

Because the entire boom tilts, the XL 3300 III does not lose any boom-end power on high productivity jobs requiring mass excavation, trenching, spreading rip-rap, demolition and pavement removal. The tilting alternative for conventional models is a boom-end rotation device, which severely reduces boom breakout forces.

The maximum digging depth of the XL 3300 III is 18 ft. 5 in. (5.6 m), while the boom reach at groundline is extended to 27 ft. 3 in. (8.3 m).

Additional Specs

A Detroit Diesel Mercedes 172 hp (12.8 kW) engine delivers full mobility and boom performance, with high pressure, load sensing hydraulics that deliver 13,300 lbs. of breakout force. The rear counterweight design results in a rear swing of just 7 ft. 6 in. (2.3 m), enabling the excavator to work in traffic lanes without closing the road.

The four-wheel-drive undercarriage has rubber tires designed for mobility on rough terrain as well as on highways where they won't damage the paved surface. Even while the machine is moving, the operator can change between standard and creeper travel mode to efficiently position the machine. Axles are equipped with internal wet-disc type service and parking brakes.

A host of standard features in the excavator's cab include air conditioning, removable front window, a large adjustable seating module and a switch to select Gradall, SAE or Deere joystick patterns.

This series of excavators have almost 70 percent parts commonality, simplifying the task of maintaining inventories to complete common service functions. These machines also have longer routine service intervals, and most service locations can be reached from ground level. A network of authorized distributors supports all Gradall excavators, supplying service advice and authorized Gradall parts.
