Georgia Utility Contractors Association Inc. (GUCA) Community Service Committee took on the initiative to help the Bahamian residents impacted by Hurricane Dorian as one of this year's community service projects. GUCA members were challenged to donate $1,000 to the relief efforts to help those impacted by the catastrophic hurricane that ravaged the island community.
Atlanta HydroVac; Blount Construction Co. Inc.; BRW Construction Group; Cleary Construction/Rock Solutions; The Corbett Group LLC; Cyclone Land Development; DeKalb Pipeline Company; GUCA; Heavy Machines Inc.; Large & Gilbert, PC; Legacy Water Group LLC; McCoy Grading Inc.; Peed Bros. Inc.; PINCO; RDJE Inc.; Ruby-Collins Inc.; Brent Scarbrough & Company; Southern Champion Construction; Sterling Seacrest Advisors; and Tractor & Equipment Company donated $1,000 each for a total of $20,000. The funds were sent to Green Turtle Cay (GTC) Foundation so that they will be used to help the residents rebuild their homes and the island.
The Green Turtle Cay (GTC) Foundation was formed to promote the common good and general welfare of the community in and around the area of the Town of New Plymouth, Green Turtle Cay, Abaco, Bahamas, and to promote, develop, redevelop, encourage and maintain housing, education, healthcare, employment, commerce, economic development and transportation facilities in the Green Turtle Cay community. All funds will be distributed locally on Green Turtle Cay to affected Bahamian residents.
