Harter Equipment, which was founded by Seth Harter in 1967 and led by Sue Harter since 1999, has joined the Highway Equipment family. As Highway Equipment Company, the former Harter will continue to provide customers the same service, support and experience for all of their equipment needs. Highway Equipment's full line of machinery, equipment, parts, service and rentals will meet the needs of companies in the construction, aggregate and earthmoving businesses.

"We are excited to expand our footprint into this important market," said Highway Equipment President Thomas Reynolds.

Highway Equipment offers a portfolio of premier brands of products, such as screens and crushers, excavators, trucks and compact skid steers among many others. Highway is committed to providing an easy way to do business, an experienced team, expedient customer service, exceptional product support and equipment of the highest quality, Reynolds said.

"We have seven branches, located throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina and now New Jersey, servicing 10 states," Reynolds said. "Our experience keeps us at the forefront of equipment innovations by representing the most reliable manufacturers, maintaining a workforce that is well educated and empowered to provide reliable solutions for maximum productivity."

The merging of businesses made perfect sense for Sue Harter.

"I was attracted to Highway Equipment as we were both multi-generation, family-run businesses and had common brands like Kobelco, Bell and Hyundai," she said. "I have known Thom Reynolds for many years, as well as many of the key managers at Harter knew their counterparts at Highway.

"As part of a larger organization, the acquisition will provide our customers with more access to larger equipment and attachments as well as equipment Harter did not deal in, such as screening and crushing products," she added.

All Harter employees have joined the Highway Equipment team.

"We want to assure our customers that we will continue to deliver the great products, support and value you have come to expect from us," said Harter.
