The Hills Machinery staff in Greensboro has many years of experience. (L-R) are Andrew Early, parts manager; Jerry Ridgway, service manager; Spencer Coble, branch manager. Jerry Ridgway (L), service manager, talks with Brad Setzer, service technician, about a customer’s needs before heading out for the day. Hills Machinery keeps a good supply of parts, fluids and filters on hand to meet its customers’ expectations. Andrew Early, parts manager, stands next to the supply of fluids area contractors routinely request. Mark Newcomer (L) handles sales in the Greensboro area while Todd Burton handles Winston-Salem. The Greensboro location is fully stocked with new Case dozers, excavators, wheel loaders, backhoes and Bell Trucks. The yard at Hills Machinery is fully stocked with Case machines and the other brands. The 3-acre facility located at 2901 Manufacturers Road in Greensboro, features four drive-through service bays capable of handling eight machines and ample parts storage.

Hills Machinery Company, which has been a Case dealer in the Carolinas since 2010, recently opened a new facility in Greensboro, N.C. — the fourth in the state of North Carolina and the sixth location overall.

“The facility is strategically located, and we are offering a very good service to our customers,” said Adam Hills, company vice president. “This was done with a lot of forethought. We've looked at the major markets, and Greensboro is one of those population areas where we have been working towards establishing a new location. It's a very good market, where Case has been traditionally for a long period of time, and is expected to have a lot of growth over the next five to 10 years. There are submarkets that feed into the Greensboro market, and we look to have continued success there.”

The new location is on approximately 3 acres, and the brick-and-mortar facility is around 10,000 sq. ft. (929 sq m), with 2,500 sq. ft. (232 m) for retail and the rest for the shop area. There are three drive-through service spaces, including a wash area, a loading dock, and areas for parking machinery around the yard.

The service area can comfortably handle six machines at a time, and potentially more depending on the size — everything from articulated trucks, rock crushers, screens and skid steers.

Hills Machinery Company's main product line is Case construction equipment, but its ancillary lines include Bell articulated trucks; the Mauldin paving line, which consists of pavers, motorgraders, tack tanks, and precision asphalt distributing vehicles; and Terex Finlay rock crushing and screening products.

At the Greensboro location, Spencer Coble serves as the branch manager, Andrew Early is the parts manager, and Jerry Ridgway is the service manager.

“The reception that we've received so far has been very positive — some of it is a sense of relief that the Case dealer is back and the Case product is represented in that area again,” Hills said. “That's from new products as well as from a parts and service standpoint for the legacy machines that are still in that area. So far it's been very positive — we've had good sales and rentals of current products, and will continue to focus on growing that. We're very happy to be back in Greensboro. We want to be a positive member of the community, and have a direct impact to the economy there. We want to be there to support the people who have supported us and the Case product line for years. We look forward to being there.”
