Case Construction Equipment dealer Hills Machinery announced the opening of a new facility in Charlotte, N.C.

Located at 11717 Reames Rd., the new 22,000 sq. ft. (2,043.9 sq m) facility features eight service bays with the latest equipment diagnostic and service technologies.

“We have a 10-ton overhead crane, full service parts department, stocked and ready with parts and personnel. We have been here about 60 days. We expect to have between 15 and 20 people over the next year and we have just completed a total up-fit of the facility,” said Jim Hills, dealer principal, Hills Machinery.

The new operation will serve customers in the Charlotte metro area and surrounding communities. The Charlotte operation will feature new, used and rental equipment, as well as heavy equipment services.

“We will have an intense rental presence giving the contractors the option to try the equipment, get exposure to our service and our parts availability, quality of our personnel and if they decide that they would like to convert from a rental into a purchase that will be an option that we will make sure is available to them.

“The Charlotte market is dynamic, and our customers work extensively throughout North and South Carolina,” said Hills. “Our customers are best served with a strong presence in the area — and accessibility to equipment and service is critical. We’re committed to providing the most comprehensive service in the Carolinas, and this new location helps us achieve that.”

Hills added that the company’s values will enable further growth.

“I think that the philosophies that have led us to grow so far won’t be any different than what we do today here in Charlotte. We will lead with product support first, service and parts into a market where Case has been out for several years. We will prove ourselves to the customer base that we are a dependable, reliable partner and one that is here to stay and if we are consistent and do that on an ongoing basis, we expect that we will earn their business.”

In addition to its headquarters in Columbia, S.C., and its new Charlotte facility, Hills Machinery operates three additional locations in Greenville and Raleigh, N.C., as well as Charleston, S.C. The company employs a total of 70 people at all five locations.

“We realize that there is always a need for an equipment supplier that is very conscious of what the contractor needs and having a willingness to have a very close and personal focus and quick responsiveness to what they want. What we have found is that focus on service, ahead of anything else, and that commitment to it day in and day out has allowed us to both come in these markets, get established and grow,” said Hills.
