Construction fleet managers can now choose from two harder working, more efficient ZXLink Machine Monitoring Systems from Hitachi to control their fleet operations.

The two new option levels add more sophisticated capabilities to the popular ZXLink Machine Monitoring System. Called Advanced and Ultimate, these new operating levels are available for field or factory installation on any Zaxis Dash-3 excavator.

“These two new options give customers more ways to lower operating costs and increase their ability to efficiently manage their fleet,” said Craig McBeth, division manager of Hitachi Construction and Mining Products. “ZXLink also helps to increase productivity and uptime by letting fleet managers keep tabs on every detail, no matter where the machine is located.”

Information Provided

The original ZXLink Standard level automatically collects, transmits, and manages machine data. The data can be viewed at a single secure Web site regardless of model or make, or what dealer sold the system. Customers can then use the data to check machine operation times, track machine locations, and set restrictions on when machines are allowed to run.

ZXLink integrates into virtually any business office management system for maximum efficiency.

“Besides being user-friendly, the reliability is top-notch,” said McBeth. “ZXLink works with predictable precision from the first time you use it. And the Standard level works on any construction machine with a 12-volt or 24-volt charging system, regardless of make.”

The new ZXLink Advanced provides all the Standard level features plus a percentage breakdown of machine-idling hours versus working hours. To immediately inform maintenance managers of impending machine problems, Advanced also provides dashboard alerts such as low fuel level warnings via Internet, cell phone, or pager.

With ZXLink Ultimate, a maintenance manager can receive the kind of detailed information needed to extend the economic life of equipment, as well as improve productivity. Machine pressures, temperatures, and speeds are captured and displayed in an understandable format that can even be downloaded onto a spreadsheet for further analysis.

“ZXLink Ultimate takes raw data and presents it in a format that is actionable, giving you the ultimate tool to see how hard and efficiently your machines are working,” said McBeth.

Models Covered

ZXLink Standard is an all-makes-and-models solution and can be used to cover a contractor’s entire fleet. The Advanced and Ultimate levels can be used on all Zaxis Dash-3 excavators, models ZX160LC-3 and higher.

ZXLink Ultimate systems come standard on the Zaxis 450, 650, and 850 Dash-3 models, with three years of service included in the price of the machine.

Confidentiality

McBeth stressed to customers that only they determine who sees the data collected by their ZXLink system.

“We believe customers should look to their dealers as consultants on how they are using their equipment and share their data with them. However, we want to make it perfectly clear that under no circumstances will we use this data to administer warranties. ZXLink is all about improving our customers’ businesses. This product will help us and our dealers grow our relationships with customers.”
