Holland Pump hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony April 20 in recognition of the grand opening of its new national headquarters and manufacturing facility in Brunswick, GA.
The ceremony was attended by Holland Pump employees and Brunswick dignitaries.
Bill Blodgett, president and owner of Holland Pump, desired to have a more central east coast location as well as provide employees with a higher standard of living. The 38,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility is double the size of its former home base in West Palm Beach, FL.
Holland Pump was started in 1978 by Charlie Baines Cuningham. Blodgett, formerly the owner of Robert’s Express in Akron, OH, purchased the company in 1999.
As a manufacturer of dewatering pumps, Holland Pump is largely a rental, sales, and service based company. Specializing in rotary wellpoint pumps, hydraulically-driven submersible pumps, suction lift pump, jet pumps and super silent pumps, Holland Pump provides pumps that move 500 to 22,000 gal. per minute.
Blodgett expects production at the new facility to increase by 30 percent in the first year because of additional space, more employees, a new paint booth and a strategic layout of the new facility, which was created with the feedback of employees. He said the company will produce five to eight pumps a week, compared to three to five pumps at the Florida facility.
Since Blodgett purchased Holland Pump, the company has opened branches in Miami, FL; Pensacola, FL; Norfolk, VA; and Walterboro, SC. The company also has other Florida branches in Hollywood, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers and West Palm Beach.
