Holt CAT, the Caterpillar equipment and engine dealer for south, central, north and north east Texas, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new full-service facility at 27600 E. Highway 380 in Little Elm, Denton County, Texas.

The new 50,000-plus sq. ft. building will be a state of the art parts, rental and service facility as well as provide heavy equipment sales. The store will be Leed Certified by the guidelines set by the U.S. Green Building Council.

“This investment demonstrates our continued commitment and economic development in north Texas,” said Dave Harris, Holt CAT executive vice president. “We feel fortunate to be a part of the growing community in Denton County.”

According to the Little Elm Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the new facility will “create jobs and increase current budget and sales tax.” The facility is expected to open in the second quarter of 2014 and the company is anticipating up to 45 new positions at this location. “Holt CAT has been building north Texas for 80 years now. I’m glad to help welcome them to Little Elm and Denton County, one of the best places in the nation to do business,” said Texas Representative Pat Fallon.

EDC Executive Director, Jennette Killingsworth was thrilled Holt CAT chose the Little Elm site for its new multi-purpose facility. “Their [Holt’s] tax dollars will have the largest impact of any single project that the community has seen. By coming to our town, Holt is fulfilling a need for the vast development that is going on in our region. We are looking forward to the continued relationship with Holt CAT as it becomes a focal point in Little Elm,” she said.

Holt CAT has been a Caterpillar equipment dealer for 80 years and has been serving the North Texas community since 2002. Holt currently has five stores in the greater DFW metro area with more than 500 employees.
