The multi-million dollar investment will translate to a host of enhancements to the facility.

Holt CAT, the Caterpillar Equipment and Engine dealer for south, central, north and north east Texas, has invested $4 million to expand its Longview Power Systems capabilities with a new Parts Warehouse building of 24,000 sq. ft.
This facility enlargement dedicates more room to parts storage and provides local customers with more efficient, faster services. The Longview expansion is part of the company’s long-term $77 million planned business investment to build new stores and warehouses, and renovate existing facilities throughout its 118 county territory.
Additionally, moving parts warehousing out of Holt’s 52,500 sq. ft. rebuild facility enabled an expansion of the existing machine shop to 11,000 sq. ft. The added space and significant new machine tool investments will increase Holt’s turn-key service capability and capacity for the Caterpillar 3600 engine series, used in gas compression. The machine shop upgrade is scheduled for completion this fall.
“Longview is one of Holt’s strongest parts facilities in terms of volume and we see this major expansion as extremely beneficial to our customers,” said James Morrison, Longview Power Systems parts manager. “We had three 40-foot storage containers to house parts that could not be stored inside our building. Now, we have a building that is designed to support the customer more effectively and limit down time when a machine needs new parts.”
“The Longview parts store expansion was a much-needed investment to meet long-term business growth demands and is a strategic asset to our ability to service our customers,” said Dave Harris, executive vice president and general manager of Holt CAT.
