The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of Greater Kansas City, along with The Nutter Foundation, held the inaugural Dozer Day in the Kansas City area. The event was held Oct. 5 and 6 at the Kansas Speedway and benefits children's charities.
The purpose of Dozer Day is to give kids the "ultimate construction experience" by introducing them to heavy construction equipment and educating them on careers in the construction industry. They are given the chance to operate dozers, excavators and other machines as professional operators guide them.
NUCA of Greater Kansas City advances the utility construction and excavation industry by building relationships and advocating for the industry. NUCA KC also aims to train future generations for careers in utility construction and excavation. The organization and its members give back to the community through charitable opportunities and networking.
The Nutter Foundation has been hosting Dozer Day in the Pacific Northwest region for more than a decade, and is now growing the event so it can be held nationwide.
