Paul Gibson, a well-respected 43-year industry veteran, joined Nasser Heavy Equipment on Feb. 1 as general manager.
“When I met with Nasser, I was very impressed with the potential and uniqueness of his company,” said Gibson. “Nasser has extensive knowledge of heavy equipment and the equipment industry. He invites walk-in rentals, sales and service for customers. That has earned Nasser Heavy Equipment a lot of respect in the equipment business.
“If you rent a machine from Nasser Equipment or if your machine was to ever go down, don’t be surprised if you see Nasser himself on your job, working on that machine,” he said.
Gibson, who began his career in 1961, started out in the warehouse at Carter Machinery Co. in Virginia. He later went on to be service manager and eventually plant manager.
As his leadership abilities grew, Gibson took on the area service and parts sales manager position at Carter Machinery. Before Gibson left the company in 1982, he was the fleet account manager.
That same year, Gibson joined Trax Inc., a job that brought him to Atlanta as a Salvage division and used equipment manager. Adopting new challenges, Gibson bought and sold equipment worldwide.
When Trax Inc. was sold, Gibson was invited by the former owners of Trax to form a company called MAXX Parts and Equipment in Atlanta.
Leading the company to be known throughout the world, Gibson joined MAXX as president in 1991.
Pulling from his experience, Gibson brings to Nasser years of experience implementing successful business techniques, strategic sales planning, motivation and organization.
“I will be looking for later-model, lower-hour equipment for our rental fleet, and I am going to increase the market share of the new equipment field with Hyundai and Sakai.
Most importantly, Gibson noted, “The same great service that Nasser has offered in the past will continue in the future.”
Based in Lawrenceville, GA, Nasser Heavy Equipment Inc. is a full service Hyundai, Sakai and Eager Beaver dealer as well as a high volume used equipment sales and rental outlet.
