Ingersoll Rand congratulated Brox Industries and Palmer Paving Corp. for receiving recognition from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) with 2005 Quality in Construction Awards.

The two companies used Ingersoll Rand equipment on the award-winning projects.

Brox Industries won the Quality in Construction Award for work completed on more than 13 mi. of Interstate 95 from Salisbury to the Georgetown and Rowley town lines in Massachusetts.

Brox micro-milled the road, placed a leveling course and used an Ingersoll Rand MC-330 mobile conveyor to transfer asphalt to the paver to lay an open-graded friction course for the surface.

It produced a smooth hot mix asphalt pavement despite working under heavy traffic and hauling materials 30 mi. to the job site.

NAPA bestowed the Quality in Construction Award to Palmer Paving for resurfacing a section of Interstate 391 from Springfield to the city of Holyoke in Massachusetts. Palmer Paving paved three travel lanes and a breakdown lane in each direction.

To produce the high-quality hot mix asphalt pavement densities required for the job, Palmer Paving used an Ingersoll Rand MC-30 mobile conveyor with a mixing tub, an Ingersoll Rand PF-5510 paver and Ingersoll Rand DD-90 and DD-138HFA high-performance compactors.

The coordinated project kept traffic interruptions to a minimum.
