IROCK Crushers in conjunction with Ohio CAT held a demonstration of its RDS-20 to coincide with the Ohio Aggregates & Industrial Minerals Association Annual Meeting & Trade Show at the Hilton Columbus at Easton in Columbus, Ohio. The demonstration was conducted nearby at Ohio CAT customer Larry Gunsorek’s Anchor Recycling LLC’s facility on Claycraft Road in Columbus.

The demonstration gave representatives of Ohio’s aggregate companies and contractors a first hand view of the IROCK RDS–20 crushing and screening system at work while they were in town for the association meeting.

The RDS-20 primary closed circuit crushing plant is designed for primary applications that require high production. The plant is capable of processing quarry rock, demolition debris and recyclable materials up to 500 tph (453 t) at rates that range up to 500 tons per hour depending on material and site conditions.

Manufactured in Ohio, The RDS-20 features a four-bar impactor with three stage crushing and is capable of producing three products simultaneously, two sized and one crusher run.

As an option, a magnet can be added to salvage metals from recycled concrete. The “I-flow” plant design allows the top screen deck oversize to return product to the crusher for reprocessing or discharged as a product. The second deck oversize also has the same ability.

The RDS in the model’s name stands for rapid deployment system, indicating a emphasis on portability offering a rapid set-up time.

The RDS-20 is powered by a Caterpillar C13 440 hp (328 kW) diesel engine and a 210 hp (156 kW) generator and features a PT Tech HPTO12 microprocessor controlled hydraulic clutch.

Key features include standard crusher discharge “Rock Box” with impact bed, standard hydraulic apron adjustment, and 52 in. by 17 ft. (132 cm by 5 m) vibrating feeder with 5-ft. (1.5 m) two-step self relieving grizzly and an on-board 5 by 16 ft. (1.5 by 4.8 m) double deck screen with reversible side transfer, on-board power for full plant operations and three extra outlets for auxiliary conveyors, and a standard hydraulic self-leveling system.
