Ray Mullen opened his construction business 41 years ago in northern New Jersey. Shortly after the company opened, the county where his business was located experienced a housing boom and D.R. Mullen Construction Company Inc. boomed along with it. Specializing in site work, road construction, sewer, water main and storm drain installation, as well as curbing and paving, the company was busy, growing to 35 employees.

Now 71 years old, Ray has decided to retire after a great run in the business, choosing to sell all his company's equipment and trucks unreserved through an IronPlanet weekly online auction on Dec. 14. Equipment highlights in the auction include excavators, dozers, graders, rollers, dump trucks, fuel trucks, service trucks and more.

"We've always been very studious in the repair and service of our equipment — it's all ready to go to work for new owners," said Mullen. "I chose to sell with IronPlanet because of the convenience their online auctions provide. They can market my equipment to buyers all around the world."
