IronWolf Adds ’Split System Hydraulics’ to Two Crushers

Thu April 05, 2007 - National Edition
Construction Equipment Guide

IronWolf’s 540 and 548 Crusher models incorporate “split system hydraulics” that use two independent hydraulic systems to rotate the cutter drum. The Crusher consists of a cutter drum and housing, and an auxiliary power unit, dedicated entirely to driving the cutter head, and mounts on the rear of the loader.

The mobile attachments mount to wheel loaders and have the ability to reduce rock, asphalt, permafrost and concrete to virtually any size material and use a Caterpillar C-9 330-hp (245.9 kW) engine.

The Crusher’s applications include asphalt, concrete recycling, material processing, mining and material production, reinforced concrete removal, rock road refurbishing, site clearing, site preparation, excavation and soil stabilization.

Additionally, the Crusher has options such as cutter tilt that enables side to side grade control, cutter drum patterns that allow control of the size of finished material and heavy cutter assembly that increases weight per tooth ratio.
