South Plainfield, NJ, equipment dealer JESCO, hosted a family fun day for its employees on Sept. 11, at the Commerce Bank Park in Somerset, NJ.

The day was planned to honor those who have been instrumental to the continued success of the company.

“Our employees are at the heart of our organization,” said Jonathan Robustelli, president of JESCO. “Without our employees we would not be where we are today.”

Employees and their families enjoyed a picnic lunch during a baseball game between the Somerset Patriots and the Atlantic City Surf. Although the local team did not come out victorious, there was plenty of fun-filled action enjoyed by those in attendance.

Steve Cabbell, JESCO’s South Plainfield parts manager opened up the game from the pitcher’s mound following the national anthem and a moment of silence observed for those who passed away in the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Other events throughout the game in which JESCO employees and/or their children participated and won were a cotton candy eating contest and a dizzy bats competition.

Throughout the course of the day, JESCO employees enjoyed hospitality from the ballpark veranda, which provided a casual atmosphere for socializing during the game. The event provided an opportunity for the employees to get to know their fellow staff members.

“It was enjoyable to have some time out of the office to enjoy the company of my co-workers and get to know their families, particularly since we have three locations throughout the state and don’t get the opportunity to do so very often,” said Anthony Falzarano, vice president of Sales.

JESCO was founded in 1971 by Lou Robustelli. It was known as Jersey Equipment Sales Company before the name was shortened to JESCO. For more than 30 years, JESCO has been supplying customers in New Jersey with construction equipment and parts and service.

In 1972, JESCO began to carry John Deere products and has grown into one of the largest John Deere dealers in the country. It also carries Bomag rollers and attachments from Geith, JRB, Wain-Roy, Woods and Indeco.

JESCO has three branches in New Jersey — North (Fairfield), Central (South Plainfield) and South Jersey (Lumberton) — which carry a large inventory of parts and machinery and a full fleet of service vehicles to ensure its customers’ equipment stays in top condition.
