JM Wood Auction held another successful four-day auction at its expanded headquarters facility in Montgomery, Ala., on March 13 to 16. The facility's improvements include a brand new building that houses Ring 2 And Ring 3 for indoor bidding in a climate-controlled environment. The new building also contains a permanent concession area with an outdoor patio between the new building and the existing theater/ramp area, which provides plenty of room for dining.
Attendees took advantage of the facilities amenities during the four-day auction, with more than $63 million of equipment sold, including more than $14 million to online bidders.
Featured sellers included: Alabama Power Company/Southern Company, Brasfield and Gorrie, Bama Concrete, C.W. Roberts Contracting, H.O. Weaver Construction, Reed Contracting, Wiregrass Construction and more than 100 governmental agencies from across the southeast.
One highlight of the auction was a 2004 Cat D11R from Alabama Power that was purchased online for $375,000 by a contractor from Northern California. Also featured was an impressive line-up of Caterpillar rental units from across the southeast.
"Online bidding was as strong as we have ever seen," said Bryant Wood, president of JM Wood. "The onsite and online bidders turned out in full force for this auction."
"We would like to say thank you to all our buyers and sellers from around the world that participated in this auction that made this event a huge success," said Russ Wood, vice president of JM Wood. "Our loyal customers have made this 45th Annual Spring auction a can't miss event. It keeps getting better each year."
