At the North American Quarry and Recycling show in Atlanta, GA, Kawasaki demonstrated its newest wheel loader, the 95ZV. From Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, those attending the show were able to test out the first of the manufacturer’s new ZV generation of wheel loaders.

Equipped with Kawasaki standard features –– a Cummins 340-hp (253 kW) QSX15 engine, an integrated ROPS cab, automatic transmission, dual-Z linkage and Kawasaki hydraulics –– the 95ZV is the foundation for the new ZV line.

Upgrades Increase Productivity

The new Cummins QSX15, 15-L diesel provides a 15-percent increase over the previous generation in rated horsepower. The engine is emission compliant with Tier II standards. It is electronically controlled to allow for low emissions and better diagnostics, resulting in an increase in power for hill climbing, load and carry and digging applications.

Bucket capacities have also been increased on the 95ZV. The 7-cu.-yd. (5.4 cu m) bucket provides excellent production for most materials. The 95ZV offers increased traction of torque-proportioning differentials, bucket capacity, and power.

For the Operator

The 95ZV features an operator compartment designed with operator efficiency, comfort and safety in mind. The redesigned cab offers a 20-percent increase in interior space. The new integrated ROPS/FOPS cab increases visibility. Armchair fingertip controls in conjunction with the high visibility and easy-read gauges, keep the operator on top of things.

The mounted cab reduces vibration and sound levels. Wrap-around tinted windows with automotive-style rolling side windows offer excellent visibility. The optional K-Lever steering allows the operator fingertip control over the transmission and steering. The boom soft-landing feature allows the operator to concentrate on maneuvering while lowering the bucket.

Additional standard comforts such as air conditioning, AM/FM cassette radio, air ride seat and personal storage areas create the ideal operator environment.

Serviceability

The optional Cummins INSITE system monitors the performance of the engine at all times. Easy access panels keep routine maintenance time and effort down to a minimum. Grease fittings are grouped at ground level for faster service.

Outboard-mounted, four-wheel sealed wet disc brakes are designed for long life, easy access and overhaul. Standard 29.5 tires use heavy duty three-piece rims for easy field service.

The new easy-clean radiator has a side-by-side hydraulic cooler. A hinged access panel on each side of the radiator allows for easy cleaning between the cores.
