House lawmakers and the Trump Administration's legislative affairs team met Oct. 5, to talk about plans to rebuild the nation's infrastructure, The Hill reported. Among others in the bipartisan meeting were two members of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

According to a White House spokesperson, the administration also held an infrastructure briefing Oct. 5, led by Transportation Deputy Secretary Jeffery Rosen and policy advisor D.J. Gribbin, with state transportation officials, industry groups and union representatives, among other key players, The Hill reported.

Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-Ill.) said she presented some bipartisan plans aimed at rural infrastructure at the Oct. 5 meeting.

"I urged the White House to put partisan politics aside and come forward with a responsible and robust infrastructure plan that will create a better future for rural Americans," said Bustos. "I was pleased to have this opportunity and hope that it is the start of a productive conversation about how to make real, positive change in the lives of working families."

The Trump Administration has said that more details to President Trump's $1 trillion proposal to rebuild infrastructure across the nation will likely come in the third quarter, and Rep. Bill Schuster (R-Pa.), chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, has indicated that the plan could be coming soon.

"We've seen their outline, but that's continuing to be adjusted," said Shuster on Oct. 3. "We hope they're going to make it public in the next week or so. It will be more of an outline of principles, so we can move forward and put meat on the bones."
