Construction Equipment Guide

LBX Company has introduced the Link-Belt Spin Ace Series minimum swing radius excavators with Tier III engine technology. Available models include the 75SA, 80 Swing Boom, 135SA and 225SA with operating weights ranging from 17,500 to 53,800 lbs. (7,938 to 24,403 kg).

Spin Ace excavators are designed to perform big jobs in tight spaces such as traffic restricted road maintenance or other jobs with limited maneuvering space. The 75 and 80 Spin Ace models come standard with a blade attachment and the 75 has an optional offset boom attachment for working on existing foundations or wherever space is limited. A blade option and rubber tracks are new for the 225SA, and also available for the 135SA.

Powerful

Completely re-engineered Isuzu EPA certified Tier III engines meet the strictest emission regulations with Exhaust Gas Recirculation technology to lower NOx and PM. With an increase in horsepower across the board, these engines burn less fuel than before, according to the manufacturer.

A turbocharger and intercooler are standard on all models. Equipped with glow plugs, these engines have enhanced “coldstart” capability. All Isuzu engines carry a 2-year, 3,000-hour warranty, whichever comes first.

Comfortable

The Spin Ace series features a wide, low-noise cab design with expanded leg and elbow room. Silicon-filled isolation mounts float the entire cab to reduce operator fatigue. Large entry door and access width makes entering and exiting the cab easier.

The KAB 515 seat slides independently of the control consoles to assure optimal joystick positions at all times. The semi-bucket seat provides firm support and comfort with adjustable armrests, adjustable seat suspension, adjustable lumbar support and durable urethane cushions. The entire platform can then be moved forward or backward for best foot pedal positioning.

A large sunroof allows the operator to view overhead, and large safety glass windows encompass the entire cab. With built-in washer and intermittent speed control, the wiper keeps the windshield clear, whatever the weather conditions.

Spin Ace minimum swing excavators provide climate control with standard heating and air conditioning. High flow air circulation provides operator comfort. Vents direct air to the face or to the window for defrosting.

Other comfort features include an AM/FM stereo radio, cup holder, cigarette lighter, ashtray and a 12-volt accessory outlet for a phone, two-way radio, etc.

Serviceable

Link-Belt’s “Extended Maintenance System” extends lube intervals to 6 months or 1,000-hours for all attachment pivot points. With a 5,000-hour hydraulic oil change interval and a 2,000-hour filter replacement interval, the owning and operating costs of the Spin Ace excavators are low, according to the manufacturer.

Ground-level access to remote-mounted filters means filters can easily be changed. And to help prevent spills, filters are mounted vertically. Additionally, an engine oil drain “green plug” has a spring-loaded release and drain hose for an easier, more environmentally friendly oil change.
