Command Alkon, the Supplier Collaboration Platform for Construction's Heavy Work, announced recently that CTO and Vice President Engineering Charles Evans has been named as a finalist for the 2019 Alabama CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards in the Enterprise category.

The CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards, a technology executive recognition program, is sponsored by the Alabama CIO Leadership Association.

Charles was chosen for demonstrating excellence in technology leadership and leading the development of new products and technologies, while enhancing the business value derived from Command Alkon's current suite of products.

"This is a meaningful recognition of Charles' dedication to taking digitization to the next level of innovation and value to our customers across the construction industry," said Phil Ramsey, CEO of Command Alkon. "I extend my congratulations to Charles and his entire team who exemplify the break-through thinking vital to keeping our industry vibrant."

Finalists for the CIO of the Year ORBIE Awards were selected based on the size and scope of their responsibilities, leadership and management effectiveness, the business value created by technology innovation and their engagement in industry and community endeavors.

Charles has been instrumental in setting the direction for Command Alkon's Supplier Collaboration Platform and associated products that bring digital transformation to contractors, suppliers, haulers and bulk material producers in the construction industry.

Finalists will be recognized at the Finalist Reception and Executive Dinner on March 19. Charles is one of five finalists in the Enterprise category. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony May 3 in Birmingham. The Alabama CIO Leadership Association (AlabamaCIO) consists of members from prominent Alabama organizations who meet to share ideas, best practices and experiences relevant to top technology leaders.
