Lee-Smith Inc. has added Isuzu and GMC commercial trucks to its repertoire.

The company, located at 2600 8th Avenue in Chattanooga, Tenn., serves southeast Tennessee, north Georgia and northeast Alabama.

It continues to offer Ford and International trucks.

“We have increased our truck and parts inventory to support this new growth in business,” said Walt Conners, vice president of sales.

He said its service department also has ramped up its efforts.

“Customers today cannot afford the downtime,” Conners said.

It stocks vehicles from Class 2 to Class 8.

Lee-Smith represents GMC’s medium-duty line of Topkick models 4500 to 8500 and T-series cab over. They are available with manual or automatic transmissions and with diesel or gasoline. The trucks can have regular cab, commercial cutaway or crew cab.

The Isuzu trucks, which Lee-Smith said have been the No. 1 selling low-cab forward truck since 1986, are available in diesel or gas powered and with automatic or manual transmissions. Primary uses for Isuzu trucks involve commercial applications, such as van, flatbed, dump, utility, lawn and landscape.

Lee-Smith’s president is Bryan Leskosky. It employs approximately 120 people, including several new technicians and parts department workers to handle the additional business.

Lee-Smith is one of three companies owned and operated by the Lee family in Chattanooga. Lesco Inc. is a full-service truck lease and rental company. It is a member of Nationalease and Idealease. Lesco Logistics LLC provides transportation services such as dedicated contract carriage and just-in-time delivery.
