Leica Geosystems Inc. has announced the appointment of FLT Geosystems, a division of Florida Level & Transit Co., as a Leica dealer for land surveying products in Virginia.

Based in Richmond, FLT Geosystems will be responsible for selling Leica’s GPS and TPS lines of surveying equipment. This includes the complete line of reflectorless and robotic total stations, all geodetic-grade RTK and reference station GPS surveying receivers and resource mapping-grade GPS receivers. FLT also will sell supporting surveying software, plus a full line of surveying supplies, paint, flagging, safety equipment and accessories.

Established in 1956, FLT Geosystems is a surveying instrument retailer in North America and is rapidly expanding its presence from the Florida and Georgia markets.

Ken Jagman, Leica Geosystems’ regional dealer manager for eastern North America, said, “FLT’s 45-years’ experience in selling and servicing Leica instruments will make them an excellent Leica dealer in Virginia. The company has clearly demonstrated its strong knowledge and expertise in the surveying and engineering markets, and provides excellent technical support and after-sales service for their customers.”

Robert Asher, representing FLT Geosystems noted, “We are very proud to assume the sales responsibilities for Leica Geosystems in Virginia. We are particularly delighted that Brian Daniel, who has been working with Leica Geosystems’ client base in Virginia for the past two years, has also joined FLT Geosystems. Together we intend to reinforce the excellent sales and support that Brian has been providing to his client base as we expand our market in Virginia. Karen Weir will handle inside retail sales, customer service and communications for our field representatives.”

FLT’s Richmond office may be reached at 804/515-7984, or 800/220-7206.
