Liftech to Sponsor JCB ’Dancing Digger’ for Great NY State Fair

The Great NY State Fair will feature a new and unique attraction when the gates open Aug. 21, 2003. The JCB “Dancing Diggers” will perform stunts and precision maneuvers, choreographed to contemporary music, using 8-ton JCB backhoe loader construction equipment. The Dancing Diggers will perform three shows daily throughout the fair’s run in the infield area adjacent to the Midway. Show times will be 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Liftech Equipment Companies Inc., of East Syracuse, NY, is the official sponsor of the Dancing Diggers at the Fair. Liftech is the JCB construction equipment dealer serving all of Upstate New York and Vermont, with full- service branch offices in Buffalo, Rochester, East Syracuse, Schenectady and Burlington, VT.

Founded in 1988 by Joseph Verzino, Liftech serves industrial, construction, lumber, and distribution businesses with equipment that includes Hyster fork lifts, Genie aerial lifts, Hotsy pressure washers, and Gardner Denver air systems.

JCB Inc. worldwide headquarters are in Rocester, England, and its North America headquarters is in Savannah, GA.

The company was founded by Joseph Cyril Bamford in England in 1945, and is now headed by his son, Sir Anthony Bamford.

Members of the Dancing Diggers team hail from both Savannah and Rocester, Staffordshire, England. With appeal beyond users of construction equipment, they have performed their Las Vegas style shows for hundreds of thousands including the Queen of England and other heads of state.

Each of the shows will conclude with a salute to New York State in music and the unfurling of an impressive five-story tall depiction of the Empire State Building.

Admission to the Dancing Digger shows is free and open to all fair goers.
