Lloyd Meekins & Sons Auction Company held its annual Spring Contractors Auction April 28 in Lumberton, N.C.
More than 1,000 onsite bidders and approximately 200 registered online bidders participated in the auction that featured 1,041 lots, which sold for more than $7 million. In all, 36 U.S. states and 13 countries were represented.
Equipment auctioned off came from ST Wooten Corporation, Broadmoor Associates LLC, Hill Grading & Landscaping, Hyatt Construction, Narron Contracting Inc., Percy L. Johnson Contractors, Hodge Construction Company, Rock Grading & Paving Inc., TAL International, Thompson Contracting, TR Vernal Paving, Triangle Grading and Paving Inc., Tripp Brothers Construction Company and other owners.
Among the many highlights of the sale included two 2005 Volvo A40D articulated dump trucks that sold for $140,000 per truck and went to a contractor in Virginia.
After the auction concluded, many of the sellers mentioned that Lloyd Meekins Auction Company’s contract option of an absolute net guarantee is among the most beneficial for their companies when it comes to selling their surplus equipment and trucks in today’s global equipment market.
