Montreal-based Major Wire Industries Limited recently welcomed producers and authorized dealers from the southern United States to an open house at its newest facility — Major Wire Screening Inc. — in Salisbury, N.C. The 55,000 sq.-ft. weaving and finishing facility matches Major Wire’s ISO 9001:2008 registered process and quality standards, allowing it to efficiently deliver all of Major Wire’s OptimumWire woven wire solutions for the quarry, mining, industrial minerals, recycle and green waste markets. The event began with an interactive screen maintenance seminar designed to help producers identify common screening problems that reduce production rates. National award-winning pit master, Bill Eason and his Little Red Pig catering company cooked up a savory whole hog with all the fixings, while the bluegrass duo of Mark Raborn and Al Smith played familiar tunes to set the mood. Attendees had the opportunity to tour the facility and speak to Major Wire screening experts about their challenges and opportunities.

“I’d seen Major Wire’s ads in a few of the industry publications, but never wanted to deal with the freight costs to get my screen media from Canada,” commented Michael Frings, a local North Carolina concrete producer. “When I heard there was a new Major Wire facility in my own backyard, I had to come see it for myself. It’s nice to be able to get Major Wire quality from a local source.”

Major Wire Screening specializes in weaving standard and customized woven wire cloth. “We keep more than 70 standard sizes in stock at all times,” said 20 plus year industry veteran Steve Taylor, general manager of Major Wire Screening Inc. “If you need another size, however, we can customize panels with openings as small as 10 mesh and with wire diameters from .025 inches to .250 inches.”

Major Wire Screening supplies a full line of screening accessories, from polyurethane and rubber screen media to screen bolts, nuts and washers to crown bar rubber, clamp rails, center hold-down bars, wear protection accessories and more.

Through its local authorized dealers and territory managers, Major Wire Screening serves the industry’s screen media needs in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Oklahoma, southern Indiana, southern Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
