Executives from Manitowoc Cranes and Kobelco Cranes gathered to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their crane supply agreement.
The celebration included an exchange of commemorative gifts from representatives of both companies. Representing Manitowoc Cranes was Eric Etchart, president of the company, and representing Kobelco Cranes was Akihiko Tsukamoto, also president.
Etchart highlighted the cooperation between Manitowoc and Kobelco as the key to success.
“This celebration is the direct result of two companies successfully working together for mutual benefit,” he said.
The agreement being celebrated calls for Kobelco to supply Manitowoc-branded crawler cranes in classes up to 120 tons (109 t), and for them to be sold around the globe by the Manitowoc Distribution network. Conversely, the agreement enables Manitowoc to supply all-terrain cranes to Kobelco for sale in Japan.
Tsukamoto said that the 10-year long agreement is a testament to each company’s strengths.
“We are pleased to have Manitowoc supply our all-terrain cranes in Japan, since Kobelco has well-established relationships with the major customers of lifting equipment in Japan,” he said. “This complements our supply agreement for crawler cranes, and we look forward to a continuing business relationship for the benefit of both parties.”
