After almost 40 years in business, Cecil Tucker of Tucker Equipment Sales in Norcross, Ga., decided it was time to retire and commissioned Martin & Martin Auctioneers to auction off his machines and support equipment on Oct. 10th.
Tucker started the business on Buford Highway in 1978 and has seen his fair share of “peaks and valleys” in the business and has been to “more than a couple” of auctions in his day. The timing was right to retire and auction off his inventory.
“Tom Garner of Martin & Martin stopped by and we had a good conversation, and I decided to go ahead and let them handle selling off my machines,” said Tucker.
Tucker plans to go back to his 250-acre farm in Alma, Ga., and become a hobby farmer, and jokingly said, “I'll probably miss this business. It's kind of like an addiction. It'll take a while to get through the withdrawal.”
“I've enjoyed the business and have worked with a lot of loyal customers over the years and certainly want to thank all of them for their business,” said Tucker.
