May Heavy Equipment, based in Columbia, South Carolina now represents the NorAm 65E compact motor grader. Bert and Jacob May founded the company in 1997 and with their 50 plus years of industry experience have been able to develop their company into a premier provider of construction and road building equipment.

The NorAm 65E follows a rich 65 year heritage of compact graders originating with the Allis Chalmers model “D” in 1949. The machine continued to be the industry leader as the Fiatallis model 65B from the 1070’s through the 1990’s. NorAm Construction Equipment began marketing the machine in 1993 and has continually strived to update the unit to current technical and performance standards while maintaining the traditional features that have made the machine a staple in the industry.

“We are every pleased to have May Heavy Equipment join our team,” says Dave Watson, vice president of NorAm. “May Heavy Equipment is a very highly respected, growing dealership with a professional sales, rental, and support team. Their philosophy of providing top quality equipment, excellent service, and competitive prices is just what we look for in a dealer. There is a very substantial population of older Fiatallis and NorAm machines working throughout South Carolina and I am very confident that there will be many more new NorAm 65E graders working in the Palmetto state.”

Richie Ambrose, Vice President, May Heavy Equipment commented; “We spend a considerable amount of time evaluating new product lines. The NorAm 65E is a proven market leader with excellent reliability, value, and customer acceptance. Furthermore, NorAm sells and supports only one product …and they do it right!”
