Mayfield Constructor Named AGC 2003 Chairman for NY

The New York State Chapter Inc., Associated General Contractors (NYSAGC) has elected Timothy Delaney as its 2003 chairman. Delaney, founder and president of Delaney Construction Corp., of Mayfield, NY, was selected at the group’s 77th annual meeting in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

As chairman, Delaney will be charged with leading the statewide association of highway contractors and its associates and subcontractors during a year in which Gov. Pataki is proposing a $100-million cut in the New York State Department of Transportation’s (NYSDOT) capital program.

Also in 2003, the federal, six-year highway plan, known at TEA-21, will be up for renewal.

Other officers elected to serve on the 2003 NYSAGC executive committee are:

• First Vice Chairman — Jeffrey DiStefano, vice president, Harrison & Burrowes Bridge Constructors Inc., Glenmont, NY;

• Second Vice Chairman — William Mascetta, area manager, Granite Halmar Construction Co. Inc., Mt. Vernon, NY;

• Treasurer — Frederic Stutzman, vice president, Hudson River Construction Co. Inc., Albany, NY; and

• Assistant Treasurer — Daniel Hogan, president, Crane Hogan Structural Systems Inc., Spencerport, NY.

In addition, Delaney appointed Robert Doucet to the executive committee as director-at-large. Doucet is vice president of Northeast Operations, Barrett Paving Materials Inc., Liverpool, NY.

Delaney Construction, founded in 1982, is a heavy and highway contractor that has performed work from Pennsylvania to Canada for Metro North Railroad, NYSDOT, New York State Thruway Authority, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and numerous private companies.

Recently it completed site work on the KMart Distribution Center outside Amsterdam. It was the largest earthwork project in the capital region in several years, moving 1.5 million cu. yds. of earth.
