Construction Equipment Guide

A new scissor lift from Mayville Engineering Company takes up to three workers, their tools and materials to work heights as great as 43 ft. (13 m) with improved features for productivity, convenience, safety and operator comfort.

The MEC 3768ES is a slab-type machine that is driveable at full height using a proportional control system that allows an infinite range of drive and lift speeds. Lift capacity is 750 lbs. (340 kg) including 400 lbs. (181 kg) on a roll-out deck that extends platform size to a spacious 5 by 13 ft. (1.5 by 4 m). Its hydraulic system, newly developed by MEC for its entire line of scissor lifts, offers greater endurance and is twice as efficient as the system previously used.

Another feature of the new MEC unit is its single-beam elevating system, which delivers increased rigidity, minimum sway and lower maintenance costs compared to traditional double-beam designs. It also has an automatic pothole protection system, pioneered by Mayville in the early 1980s, that reduces the risk of machine tipover should a hole or deep depression in the floor be encountered.

Powered by a 48-volt battery system, the 3768ES is just 68 in. (173 cm) wide for easy movement through double doorways and has a stowed height of 72 in. (183 cm) when guardrails are folded down. Other features include rear-wheel drive and 25-percent gradeability.
