McAllister Equipment Co. recently acquired Windy City Heavy Equipment Service. Located in Lockport, Ill., Windy City is known throughout the Chicago area for its services for everything from heavy construction equipment and trucks to forklifts and generators.
“Our business is twofold,” explained Mike Kasperski, who along with his wife, Jeanie, formerly owned Windy City and continues to run it as a division of McAllister Equipment Co.
“We have a preventive maintenance side that works with customers on such items as oil and filter changes and oil sampling. In addition, we offer emergency repair work in case of breakdown. We work on-site at the customer’s convenience.”
The Kasperskis founded Windy City nearly a decade ago and have built it into an eight-truck operation that runs around the clock. The company runs two overnight trucks, and a good portion of its work is done during those hours.
“Our customers generally call us ahead of time and let us know where the machine is and when it will be available,” Jeanie noted. “It’s convenient for customers because they don’t have to shut their machines down during productive times to have them serviced. They’re ready to go to work first thing in the morning.”
Customers Benefit
Windy City offers an experienced staff that can diagnose and fix most problems on any make and model of machinery.
“Our guys are specialists in working with all types of equipment and their systems,” Mike emphasized. “They’re thorough and professional, and they constantly share information with each other because they know it will strengthen our team.”
Teaming up with McAllister is a move the Kasperskis say will benefit customers. “McAllister customers now have access to our services, and Windy City’s former customers benefit from having the resources of a great dealership. In addition to the services we already provided, we’re now rebuilding buckets and loader frames. For now, we’re focused on the Chicago area, but the plan is to expand to other McAllister locations.”
“We’re very pleased to work with Mike and Jeanie in this new endeavor,” said McAllister President Jack Moser. “Our customers will benefit by having these additional resources to turn to for their service needs.”
