McCann Industries held its fifth Annual Open House at its newly remodeled Bolingbrook, IL, facility on Sept 14.
Customers were able to witness the transformation of the store first-hand as attendees had the opportunity to walk through the 12,500-sq.-ft. (1,161 sq m) addition that has allowed McCann to increase parts, light equipment and supply storage.
More than 60 manufacturer’s representatives were present to answer questions and demonstrate product features. Case displayed its new M Series loader/backhoe and CX Series excavator, both of which were used in the rodeo events.
More than 75 skilled operators competed in the loader/backhoe and excavator rodeo. Jim Morris, of Morris Excavating ,took first place, receiving $1,000 and a gold medallion. Tim Tough took home the second place prize of $500 and a silver medallion, while third place winner Dave LaVigne, of the Village of Bolingbrook, received $250 and a bronze medallion.
The horizontal directional drilling demonstration let operators see the Case Horizontal Directional Drill in action with help from VacTron Equipment. Customers and vendors alike also gathered to witness the entire concrete finishing process from the concrete pour to the coloring to the stamping.
Attendees had the opportunity to bid in a silent auction for various sizes of loader/backhoe buckets, hand tools, saw blades and many other items. All attendees received T-shirts, hats and other items, and were also able to take advantage of barbecue and refreshments throughout the day.
Door prize winners included Bob Nickolson, of Nickolson Construction, who took home a Sony flat screen television; Ernie Chavez, of Phil’s Concrete, who was awarded four Chicago Cubs tickets; and Dan Kahl, of Walsh Construction, who won the trip to World of Concrete.
