William F. Maher died suddenly on Nov. 18, 2017. He was 66.

The president of McKinney Drilling, Mr. Maher was the beloved husband of Denise M. (nee Wheatley) and the loving father of Megan Sweitzer (Paul Cerami), Erin Colleen Maher and William F. III. He also is survived by four grandchildren Drew, Maggie, Paige and Brooke Sweitzer.

Mr. Maher was the son of Mary M. (nee McCann) and the late William F. Maher Sr.; brother of Maryanne McAdams (the late John), Diane Burgess (John), Patricia Dollinger (Joe), Therese Sylvester (Bob), Nadine Maher (Gene Cunningham), Bernadette Flanigan (Jim) and Meg Callahan (Mike). Brother in law of Bill Wheatley (Michele), Regina McKinley (Reid), Stephen Wheatley (Megan), Marie Hartman (Steve), Milissa Walters (Bill), Francis Wheatley (Jeanne), Bernadette Boileau (Joe), Christopher Wheatley (Catrina) and the late John Wheatley. And survived by many nieces and nephews.

McKinney Drilling Company was founded in 1937 by the late Jack and Richard McKinney. From the need to improve the quality and increase production of bridge foundations, McKinney Drilling Company has become the leading drilled shaft foundation company in North America, with 70 years of milestones and innovations. The company has locations in Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Mr. Maher was based in the Colmar, Pa., location.
