The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to repair/replace up to 37 culverts spanning about 24 mi. of U.S. Highway 2 east of Chinook in Blaine County. The project begins just outside the east city limits of Chinook at reference post 404.0 and extends east for 23.9 mi., ending near the Milk River bridge near the town of Fort Belknap at reference post 427.9.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. New right-of-way or utility relocations may be needed at spot locations.

For more information, please contact Steve Prinzing, Great Falls District preconstruction engineer at 406/454-5899 or Christie McOmber, Great Falls District project engineer at 406/454-5900.
