Metso has appointed Scott Snyder to the position of product manager, vibrating product line, North America. The appointment is effective July 1, 2010, and Snyder will be based in Metso’s York, Pa., office.

“We are delighted to welcome Scott to the Metso team,” said Greg Albert, Global vice president, vibrating equipment, Metso. “He brings an extensive knowledge and expertise in screening, instrumentation and process control systems.”

Snyder will assume the leadership of Metso’s vibrating equipment product line for the North American mining, construction, and mobile equipment markets. This will include the establishment and development of manufacturing operations at Metso’s Columbia, S.C., facility.

The focus of Snyder’s position will be the introduction of Metso’s global product lines, which are new to the North American construction and mining markets.

“Introduction of the proven Metso global construction and mining product lines, in combination with all the other industry leading Metso products, will be an exciting time for the industry. My team’s goal is to become the industry benchmark for vibrating equipment,” said Snyder.

Prior to joining Metso, Snyder was a director of Schenk Mining North America, and was president and founder of International Precision Controls Inc., which commercialized analyzer technology for coal, power and mineral mining applications.
