The Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association (ONLA) held its annual trade show and conference at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, Jan. 16 to 18. Formerly known as the CENTS show (Central Environmental Nursery Trade Show), the event has been rebadged MGIX (Midwest Green Industry Xperience). According to event organizers, the name has been changed to better reflect the event's scope in terms of addressing a broad range of environmental, landscape and nursery related issues.
The event attracted approximately 5,000 owner/operators, designers, architects, growers, arborists, retailers and other industry specialists from Ohio and surrounding states who came to see the latest equipment, products and services presented by nearly 300 exhibitors. Guests also took advantage of more than 90 educational sessions offered during the three-day event. The Ohio State University played a prominent role in the educational portion with 24 sessions focused on industry research, horticulture and pest and disease management. Hands on equipment and tool training sessions were available in the ONLA garage and an area designated the “Climbers Corner” featured arboriculture and climbing techniques.
The Ohio Nursery and Landscape Association (ONLA) is a non-profit association serving contractors, arborists, maintenance firms, nursery stock growers and suppliers involved with Ohio's nursery and landscape industry.
