Schwarz Ready Mix Inc. recently purchased four Kawasaki wheel loaders from Midwestern Equipment Company, Tulsa, OK. According to Phillip Schwarz, one of the owners of Schwarz Ready Mix Inc., the wheel loaders were purchased to replace old equipment and help the company with work at its sand and concrete plants.
The purchase included two 95Z4-2 wheel loaders, with 7.25 yd. (6.63 m) buckets, and two 290Z4-2 wheel loaders, with 5.5 yd. (5.03 m) buckets.
“There have been very few breakdowns on all the loaders combined. They are very dependable and Von Spears is eager to help in any way he can,” said Schwarz. Spears is the Midwestern Equipment sales representative who sold the equipment to Schwarz.
Schwarz Ready Mix Inc. is run by the seven sons of Peter Schwarz, who founded the company in 1948. Since then, the company has grown from one concrete plant to 11 permanent and 2 portable plants, 3 sand plants and a paving company.
The company’s work force has also grown from three employees in 1948 to 230 in 2000. Schwarz attributes much of the success of the company to his six brothers: Charles, Gene, Jim, Mark, David and George, as well as Joe Lodes and Mike Shropshire, both of whom have been with the company for more than 20 years.
