More than 10,000 animals were on exhibit this year at the Wisconsin State Fair, July 31 to Aug. 10 at 640 South 84th St. in West Allis, Wis.

A lot of mouths to feed every day and a lot of clean up. That’s why Miller-Bradford & Risberg, the Case distributor, donated a Case 621E wheel loader and a Case 420 Series 3 skid steer loader to handle the feed, hay and manure during the State Fair. Stop by for a demonstration of the Case equipment in action.

“It’s great to contribute to an event with such a rich tradition,” said Mike Soley Jr., president and CEO of Miller-Bradford & Risberg. “No one thinks about all the behind-the-scenes preparation needed to keep the fair running. We’re happy to help any way we can.”

According to Brian Bolan, Wisconsin State Fair park agriculture director, a fleet of machines, including the Case equipment, operated around the clock and moved approximately 4,000 bales of straw, 1,500 bales of hay and 3,000 bags of shavings over the course of the 11-day event. Both the wheel loader and skid steer loader ran on B20 biodiesel fuel.

Agriculture is the Badger State’s largest industry. In 2007, more than 37,631 ribbons were awarded for competitions judging cattle, sheep, llamas, horses, goats, swine, alpacas, poultry and rabbits. A variety of educational exhibits were displayed at the State Fair, including the dairy industry, with milking demonstrations, the life cycle of animals, urban agriculture, and Ag Biotechnology with goat milking.

A petting zoo was featured on Aug. 6 and the Case IH Day at the State Fair on Aug. 1.
