The campus includes a 30,000-sq.-ft. service shop with more than 20 technicians on staff and 24 bays equipped with the necessary tools for a wide range of service and repair tasks.
(CEG photo) The Milton Cat parts department has six vertical lift modules or VLMs. These VLMs maximize storage space and reduce the time it takes to fulfill parts orders. Each VLM has 103 trays (618 in total) and allows for the storage of 17,000 parts; twice the old warehouse capacity. The parts are stored on revolving racks that come down as needed when a part is to be picked.
(CEG photo) There is 10,000 sq. ft. of storage for parts too large for the VLM systems.

(CEG photo) This 4,400-sq.-ft. weld shop is where technicians fabricate and repair equipment and attachments. The weld shop includes three overhead cranes; the same building includes wash bays where each machine is prepped for delivery.
(CEG photo) This quick-fill oil station allows field technicians to pull up to the station and quickly dispose of waste oil and refill their truck with all necessary petroleum products.
(CEG photo) This 30,000-sq.-ft. shop for servicing both earthmoving and power generation equipment has a 10-in. heated concrete floor to keep technicians comfortable and to heat the building in the most efficient manner possible. It also helps dry out equipment.
(CEG photo) The shop has nine cranes — three are 2.5 ton, one is 25 ton, four are 10-ton and one is 15 ton. The 25-ton and 10-ton cranes can work together for a 35-ton lift capacity.
(CEG photo) Scissor lifts built into the floor are an innovative new approach to safely lifting compact equipment.
(CEG photo) One of eight fluid extraction points in the shop. Technicians have easy access to oil no matter where they are working in the shop and can dispose of their waste oil. All oil is filtered three times before entering a machine and each reel has a metering system that tracks how much oil goes into each machine to assure that each customer is charged only for the oil their machine consumes.

On Oct. 27 and 28, Milton Cat held a grand opening event at its new spacious 100,000-sq.-ft. facility located at 7309 Eastman Road in North Syracuse, N.Y. Over two days, more than 700 people enjoyed Milton Cat's hospitality and tours of the Caterpillar dealership.

The campus includes a 30,000-sq.-ft. service shop with 24 well-equipped bays, which are serviced by nine overhead cranes that have the ability to lift up to 35 tons. A separate facility houses a welding shop with wash bays, which feature a water collection and recycling system that collects all wastewater, separates all contaminants, filters it and sends it back to be re-used to clean the next piece of iron.

The facility also boasts a 10,000-sq.-ft. parts department with an inventory of more than 17,000 parts numbers and six automated vertical lift parts stocking systems that completely automates the organization and dispensing of smaller parts. It also has a 6,000-sq.-ft. outdoor storage area that allows customers to browse Cat work tools and attachments.

Located on site is SITECH's operation center, an authorized dealer of Trimble Construction technology. From this location SITECH Northeast will offer sales, rentals, service, training and support for all Trimble products. CEG
