Elon Musk's Boring Company is now focusing its efforts on an underground tunnel around Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.

According to the company, the proposed Dugout Loop would be a 3.6-mile tunnel system to "help reduce traffic in Los Angeles by providing a clean and efficient public transportation option," USA Today reported.

"We were excited when The Boring Company came to us with this project," said Dodgers' CFO Tucker Kain in a statement. "Whether it is flying overhead in an aerial transit system or bypassing traffic through an underground tunnel, we are always looking for innovative ways to make it easier for Dodgers fans to get to a game. We are committed to working with our neighbors and fans as the project moves forward."

The System

Rather than using cars, passengers would enter electric skates that can hold between 8 and 16 people. Travelling at 150 miles per hour, the skates would take fans from East Hollywood to Dodger Stadium in just four minutes, cutting down on time typically stuck in traffic. The system would have the ability to transport about 1,400 passengers, USA Today reported. The estimated fare price is $1 per ride.

Musk said construction would take about 14 months.
