The U.S. Navy recently awarded contracts to two construction companies totaling over $101 million for projects in Hawaii and Guam, according to a news release.

Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. received a contract of over $60 million for the construction of two facilities at the Marine Corps base in Kaneohe, HI.

The Navy said the design-bid-build contract is for a two-story regimental consolidated communications and electronics facility, as well as for a six-story concrete-framed parking garage. Construction is scheduled to be complete by March 2020.

In addition, the Navy awarded McLean, Va.-based Contrack Watts, Inc. a contract of over $41 million for construction upgrades to an existing sanitary sewer system at the Naval Base in Joint Region Marinas, Guam. Work for the project will include the replacement, rehabilitation and upgrade of the sewage collection systems both in the Naval base and in surrounding areas, such as Nimitz Hill, the Naval Hospital, Polaris Point, Ordnance Annex and Apra Palms Housing. The project is scheduled to be complete by January 2020.
