ICUEE 2017 kicked off Tuesday, Oct. 3, with the official Kentucky Derby bugler opening the show to a full day of exhibits, education and networking.

Lunch with 'The Grid' Author (Oct. 4)
Keynote speaker Gretchen Bakke, author of 'The Grid: The Fraying Wires Between Americans and Our Energy Future,' will share her insights on the diverse people and ideas that are coming together to build the next-generation electrical infrastructure – 12 Noon – 1:00 p.m., brought to you in partnership with Terex Utilities and show owner and producer Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM).
Meet-and-Greet 'The Grid' Author Book Signing (Oct. 4) follows the luncheon 1:30 – 2:15 p.m., at the AEM Booth #3340 (indoor exhibit hall, use main entrance Lobby B).
Industry 'Give-Back' Auction (Oct. 5 & online prior)
Join in the benefit auction to connect military veterans with jobs: 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Call of Duty Endowment, the nonprofit organization founded by Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard.
Live auction takes place Oct. 5 from 12 Noon to 2 p.m. on the show floor (indoor Demo Stage). Online bidding is also available via the J.J. Kane Auctioneers ICUEE auction site.
Bourbon, Beer & Bites Reception (Oct. 5)
Networking event with complimentary tastings of the foods and beverages of Louisville, from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m., North Lobby near registration
'Tomorrow's Topics Today' at AEM Booth #3340 (Oct. 3-5)
AEM's Tomorrow's Topics Today sessions are an offshoot of AEM's new Thinking Forward series exploring industry trends and emerging technologies. View the schedule.

Disasters Taskforce: Preparing for What's Next program tackled disaster preparedness in the aftermath of the current hurricane season, with former Chief Innovation Advisor at FEMA Desi Matel-Anderson, sharing her experiences and lessons learned from deployments that included Hurricane Harvey, Typhoon Haiyan, Nepal earthquakes and Hurricane Sandy.
