New Holland Construction is a leading sponsor of the Professional Landcare Network’s inaugural PLANET Gives Back community service project in Louisville, held in conjunction with PLANET’s 2011 Green Industry Conference and the 2011 Green Industry & Equipment Expo at the Kentucky Exposition Center. New Holland will be donating a New Holland L225 skid steer loader, including a bucket and pallet fork, to help dig and load and move mulch, stone and other materials used to enhance four facilities in downtown Louisville.
“We are proud to donate our equipment, time and resources to an important cause that gives back to the local community in such a noticeable way,” said Dave December, marketing manager at New Holland Construction.
Project sites for PLANET Gives Back include the Bridgehaven Mental Health Services (950 S. First St., Louisville), Engelhard Elementary School (1004 S. First St., Louisville), Heuser Hearing Institute (117 E. Kentucky St., Louisville ) and The Center for Women and Facilities (927 S. Second St., Louisville). PLANET members, volunteers and event sponsors will plant shrubs, flowers and turf; add outdoor seating areas; replace and maintain walkways; install water features; build raised planters; design garden spaces; mulch and repair turf on playgrounds and prune ornamental trees at these locations.
“New Holland skid steers tackle everything from digging, lifting, hammering and trenching, to mowing, sweeping, raking and drilling. The New Holland 200 Series skid steer loader donated to the PLANET Gives Back project will be put to good use today to help beautify these areas of Louisville.” December said.
Earlier this year, New Holland introduced 10 skid steer loaders and compact track loaders in the new 200 Series, extending the company’s category leadership that began in 1972 with the introduction of the L35 skid steer loader — the industry’s first skid steer loader with ROPS and a vertical lift boom system. Since the introduction of the L35, New Holland has produced more than 200,000 skid steer loaders for customers in the landscaping, agricultural and construction markets.
PLANET Gives Back complements two other service projects the landscape association holds each year — the nationwide PLANET Day of Service, held in April, and Renewal & Remembrance, held each July at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
With nearly 3,500 member companies and affiliates, PLANET represents more than 100,000 green industry professionals across America.
